Shorten long words into a few strokes
Don't like to write long sentences or annoying polite phrases? Simply define the trigger e.g. "Let me know", the device will notice the trigger and complete the rest of the sentence for you. If you click on the "forgot password" link more often than you actually log in, you already have so many login data that you have sticky notes on your monitor, but you don't trust saving passwords in your browser, don't despair. AirDrive Keyboard Assistant can help you with this too. Through him you can define custom shortcuts for each web page. All sequences of keyboard shortcuts are stored in a single file in the device's memory, which is secured by a special combination of keys.
How USB Keyboard Assistant works
AirDrive Keyboard Assistant passively monitors the USB bus for keystrokes. When it detects a series of user-defined keys (the so-called trigger), it generates the corresponding sequences of preset strokes. This mechanism does not require any software or drivers and is completely independent of the operating system. Both the trigger and sequences can contain key combinations and modifiers ([Ctrl], [Alt], [F4], etc.).
Simple configuration
This little assistant can be installed and configured very quickly and easily. After pressing a special key combination, a folder with a text file will appear, in which you enter your definitions of shortcut sequences and save the file. That's all set.
High safety standards
AirDrive Keyboard Assistant is designed to store sensitive data and its security corresponds to this. The internal memory is protected by a 128-bit encryption algorithm.
Keylogger function with keystroke recording
The device can record all keystrokes on the keyboard, just like any other hardware keylogger. 16MB of internal flash memory is enough for about 8000 pages of text, which corresponds to years of writing. The recorded data is available in a single text file, formatted in a similar way as it would appear on the screen.
STANDARD vs. Wi-Fi
AirDrive Keyboard Assistant is available in two variants: a standard version and a version with Wi-Fi. The main difference between the two variants is how to access the device during configuration.
The standard version allows you to go to the settings after pressing a special combination of keys, when a file for shortcuts and configuration files appears. The version with Wi-Fi creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot, which you can connect to from any device that supports Wi-Fi connection (computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone). Once connected, the device can be accessed remotely using a special configuration page. Standard and Wi-Fi versions differ only in the way of configuration. Once configured, they respond to triggers and generate hit sequences in the same way.
Which version you choose depends only on your personal preferences. The standard version tends to be faster, while the Wi-Fi version has a more sophisticated configurator interface.
The device works with almost all types of external USB keyboards and most wireless ones. It does not work with built-in laptop keyboards and several types of keyboards with built-in high-speed USB hubs (notably Apple A1243 and Dell KB522), as well as some gaming keyboards.
